About the Project
Update: Areas of fencing in the two diamond fields at Virginia Highlands Park will be removed for greater community access. When not scheduled, these fields are available for community drop-in use. Please remember, dogs are not allowed on sports fields, even when they are on leash. Learn more here.
Arlington County is opening a community-wide conversation to develop a framework plan that illustrates a vision for improvements to Virginia Highlands Park over time. The plan will take a comprehensive look at the park considering existing park facilities, additional community needs, accessibility, circulation, safety and storm water improvements. The process will not be addressing the tennis and basketball courts, rectangular synthetic field, grass community field or sprayground, as these have been recently added or renovated. This project will also not address the Aurora Hills Library, Recreation Center and Senior Adult Center or Arlington County Fire Station 5. The County will manage a distributed community process with the goal of facilitating community-wide, transparent and effective engagement.
