North Illinois Street from 22nd St North to Lee Highway (Leeway Overlee neighborhood)
About the Project
Pedestrian safety and street improvement project on North Illinois Street from 22nd St North to Lee Highway. The project scope includes:
- Design and installation of a new 5’ continuous sidewalk, with a 2.5’ utility strip adjacent, curb and gutter, on the west side of the street
- Continuous curb and gutter on the east side of the street
- ADA compliant pedestrian ramps will be included throughout the project area
- Curb extensions at the intersections of N Illinois St with N 22nd Rd, N 23rd St, and N 24th St
About the Process
N Illinois Street (N525), Lee Hwy to 22nd St N - Preliminary Construction Schedule:
The County’s contractor, Jeffrey Stack, Inc. (JSI), has submitted the following preliminary schedule for the construction of the N Illinois St Neighborhood Conservation street improvement project, which is to be constructed in coordination with the adjacent 24th St N Neighborhood Conservation street improvement project.
This preliminary schedule is subject to revisions, due to weather conditions or unexpected issues on site (e.g. the discovery of previously unidentified and unmarked underground utilities, unstable soil conditions, etc.). In general, construction-related items should be anticipated from the spring of 2017 (May) until the late summer 2017 (allow up to mid-to-late September, if revisions occur).
Start Date: Monday, May 15, 2017 (Mobilization)
The many items needed to implement the project will be scheduled between the above start date and the end date below.
End Date: Friday, August 11, 2017 (Completion of Miscellaneous Items)
