About the Project
The New Park at South Eads Street and Army Navy Drive (formerly known as the “Teardrop Parcel” areas) is an area for public space development, per County Board designation in October 2019. The New Park is located adjacent to the Altaire residential development and 400 11th Street South, Verizon Site development and bisected by 11th Street South in the Crystal City neighborhood. It is walking distance from both the Pentagon City and Crystal City Metro Stations and is located close to other modes of public transportation. The New Park is also at walking distance to Metropolitan Park, Long Bridge Park, and Virginia Highlands Park.
About the Process
Public Engagement
Sept. 30- Oct. 14: The first engagement opportunity consisted of an online presentation (video/ slides) and opportunity to provide thoughts related to current use of the site and visions for its future. Community comments helped inform draft design concepts.
