Bluemont Trail Connection Construction - COMPLETE; project is ongoing for invasive plant control, planting, and site furnishing.
About the Project
UPDATE – Spring 2019 Invasive Plant Treatment Information: Arlington County contractors will be treating target invasive plant species in Bluemont Park. Depending on weather conditions, treatment is expected to begin Mon., March 25. The areas treated with herbicide will have signs posted to notify park users. Questions? The project scope includes a five(5) year invasive plant removal program, and also includes reforestation, and rehabilitation of natural areas within Bluemont Park, a sidewalk connection from North Manchester to the bike trail, site furnishings and informational signage for Reeves Farm.
Update: Fall invasive plant treatment took place November-December 2017. This treatment included manual removal and foliar treatment of invasive plants. The trail design is in permitting and construction is expected to take place Spring 2018.
