About the Project
Street improvement project on 24th St N, from N Illinois St to N Kensington St. The project scope includes:
- Installation of continuous 5’ sidewalk, curb and gutter, and associated storm water infrastructure, on the south side of 24th St N,
- On-street parking will be retained on both sides of 24th St N,
- ADA compliant pedestrian ramps will be installed at the intersections with N Illinois and N Kensington Streets,
- New Carlyle style streetlights will be installed in the new 2.5’ utility strip adjacent to the sidewalk.
About the Process
24th Street N (N541), N Illinois St to N Kensington St - Preliminary Construction Schedule:
The County’s contractor, Jeffrey Stack, Inc. (JSI), has submitted the following preliminary schedule for the construction of the 24th St N Neighborhood Conservation street improvement project, which is to be constructed in coordination with the adjacent N Illinois St Neighborhood Conservation street improvement project.
This preliminary schedule is subject to revisions, due to weather conditions or unexpected issues on site (e.g. the discovery of previously unidentified and unmarked underground utilities, unstable soil conditions, etc.). In general, construction-related items should be anticipated from the spring of 2017 (May) until the late summer 2017 (allow up to late August/early September, if revisions occur).
Start Date: Monday, May 8, 2017 (Mobilization)
The many items needed to implement the project will be scheduled between the above start date and the end date below.
End Date: Friday, July 28, 2017 (Completion of Miscellaneous Items)
