The Ballston Quarter Pedestrian Bridge design process is an obligation written in the site plan conditions of the recently approved Ballston Quarter redevelopment and is a joint effort between the developer, Forest City, and Arlington County. This presentation gives an overview of the planning and design process.
The collaborative process includes a design team from studioTECHNE, vetted by a County Manager-appointed Technical Advisory Committee, the Forest City project team, County staff and the Public Art Committee. The goal is to facilitate a creative process with the community that results in a community-inspired bridge that will be unique to Ballston.
The bridge design process will officially conclude when it is presented to the County Manager for consideration in late June 2016.
